Pet odor removal
Even the best trained dogs and cats have problems at times. These stains and odors can be extremely difficult for homeowners to remove.
There are several methods that SFBay Carpet Cleaning uses depending on the severity of the problem:
Pet Odor Treatment
Enzyme based cleaners are applied to the carpet and left to dwell for several minutes. Afterward, the chemicals are extracted with hot water. Finally a deodorizer is left on the carpet with a long acting digester. This treatment is used when it is believed that the urine has not fully soaked into the backing or pad.
Waterclaw Pet Odor Removal
If the damage cannot be mitigated through a normal carpet cleaning method, through the patented Water Claw system, sometimes we are able to remove pet stains and odors without having to cut out pad and reinstall carpet. This method is best used when the area is saturated with urine but in a relatively small area.
Severe Pet Odor and Damage
For the worst cases, the carpet must be pulled back and the padding replaced. During this procedure the back of the carpet, the slab and the top of the carpet is heavily extracted and chemicals are applied. Sometimes plastic sheeting is placed on the slab if the urine has penetrated that deep. If the damage is in the middle of the room, quite often a repair technician must be used to re-install the carpet.
Washing and Drying
The heart of the process, our washing techniques incorporate a wash pit to better clean out all the soils and stains that have built up over time. This method is also the most effective way to remove pet urine odors and stains. Quickly drying the rugs is key to ensure best results. We use indoor drying racks coupled with high velocity air movers.
Oriental Rug Cleaning
Rugs can hold on average 8 to 10 lbs of dust, dirt and other debris. The first step we use before ever washing your rug is to properly remove all particulate matter through dusting.
Colorfast Testing
Before we begin our washing process, all rugs are tested to ensure that all dies present in the yarns are colorfast and will not bleed during the cleaning. If we feel that the dies are going to run, we will switch to a safe dry cleaning method.
Grooming & Fringe Treatment Pet Stain and Odor
Fringe treatment is probably the most time consuming of all our techniques. Over several days, fringes are treated with special chemicals to attempt to restore them to the accenting beauty all rugs deserve. Can never be fully removed from rugs if the rugs are not cleaned throughly through full saturation in a wash pit. Topical treatments only hide the odor and do not rinse out all the contaminates.
